Students in India sit AP exams through a school that offers AP or an authorized AP test centre. For May 2027, most centres opened registration on 18 September 2026 and accept registrations until mid-November 2026. Why Pune students take AP
For US and Canadian applications
AP scores show that a student can handle college-level work in a subject, and many universities award credit or placement for qualifying scores.

When are the May 2027 AP exams?
The College Board schedules the May 2027 AP exams over two weeks, 3 to 7 May and 10 to 14 May 2027, with morning and afternoon sessions. The table on this page lists the date for each subject we teach.
Where can students in Pune sit AP exams?
Students test through a school that offers AP or through an authorized AP test centre that accepts outside students. The College Board's India page lists Kalyani School in Pune as an authorized centre, with further centres in Mumbai. Each centre sets its own registration deadlines and fees, so confirm directly with the centre.
How are AP exams scored?
Every AP exam is scored on a 1 to 5 scale. The College Board describes a 3 as qualified, a 4 as very well qualified and a 5 as extremely well qualified. Each university sets its own policy on which scores earn credit or placement.
Can a CBSE or ICSE student take AP exams?
Yes. AP exams are open to students from any school board. Because most Indian schools do not run AP courses, students usually prepare outside school and register through an authorized test centre.
How many AP subjects should my child take?
It depends on the intended major, the target universities and the school workload. One or two well-chosen subjects with strong scores are usually more useful than several rushed ones. We can discuss this in a consultation.
